Ninety-three percent
Embroidered baby-wipes
93% of London's fatbergs are made out of baby-wipes. These pieces explore environmental issues around waste and contemporary parenting.
Used baby-wipes are washed then layered into quilt like three-dimensional structures. The circular motif is suggestive of breastfeeding and hints at issues around 'self' and 'other'. Touch is implicit in the items as is repetitive motion and rhythm.
Sutures and breaking
Stitching over negative spaces and breaking into the cloth with blunt scissors. Simultaneously healing and harming.
